Richard is an Atkins Group Executive Board member and has been managing director of Atkins in the Middle East since April 2010. He is a Chartered Engineer with extensive international experience, having previously been managing director of Atkins in Europe, including businesses in Ireland, Portugal, Poland, Denmark and Sweden.
Richard joined Atkins in 1983 after graduating at the University of Nottingham in the UK. As part of the company’s Highways and Transportation business he was involved in delivering major transportation projects, ranging from planning, design and construction through to operation and maintenance of highways. This culminated in him becoming managing director, Highway Services, which involved leading the development of this integrated solutions business to the UK’s Highways Agency and local authority markets.
