We are a centre of excellence and as such have implemented fully certified and integrated quality, safety and environmental management systems optimising quality, time and cost, guaranteeing our clients unrivalled standards of performance.
QSE management system
Our entire operations in the Middle East and India are supported by full accreditation to all three internationally recognised QSE management systems - ISO 9001:2000 (Quality Management System), ISO14001:2004 (Environmental Management System) and OHSAS 18001:2007 (Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series).
We have a dedicated team at the regional level which oversees the administration and implementation of the Quality, Environment and OHS Management Systems throughout the region. In addition, each office in the region has a QSE Manager to ensure robust execution of these procedures at a local level
QSE objectives
We perform right first time and apply a concept of continuous quality improvement. Safety in workplace, environmental management and continual improvement is the heart of everything we do. Our quality objective is to provide customers with a combination of competency, objectivity and integrity. We continuously improve quality, exceeding our Clients’ expectations in delivering the highest standard products (i.e. professional consultancy services) on time and within budget. We apply risk based approach to setting health and safety objectives and have implemented a health and safety management system framework allowing each part of the business to develop management systems in order to manage and control OHS risks.
QSE system documents
In order to manage documents more effectively, we have developed an online Business Management System (BMS) on the basis of the ‘process risk approach’ to management, which systematically identifies such processes and understands their sequence and interactions. The BMS sets out the principles adopted by Atkins in delivering its services to its clients.
Our HSE management system is separately documented applying risk-based approach. OHS and Environmental risk and operation controls to mitigate those risks including emergency response plans are clearly documented.
Project quality plan
All projects are managed in accordance with the Atkins Quality Management System which is effective in assuring the quality of deliverables and provides traceability of information for completed work. This requires a Project Quality Plan (PQP) which documents all project specific requirements and procedures. We prepare initial design briefs which are reviewed by the Client prior to incorporation into the PQP. The brief is updated from time to time throughout the design development process by means of in-house design workshops and through design progress meetings with the Client. HSE plans that clearly identify OHS and environmental risks and mitigation plans, are integral part of PQP.
